Therefore, we started this weekly training program on every Monday and Wednesday for HCI students.
WHAT WE DO in the sessions:
WHEN are the sessions:
- Educate students on various way to keep fit
- Assist students to improve for NAPFA
- Help students achieve their fitness goals (in CCA, personal goals, etc.)
- Boost the confidence of students to keep fit on their own in future
- Kick start students’ commitments to keeping fit
Also, we have gathered some conclusions from our survey results:
- HCI students do have the desire to keep fit but are unsure of how to do so
- Many do not have a regular routine for keeping fit
- The fitness level of HCI students have great room for improvement
Therefore, we started this weekly training program on every Monday and Wednesday for HCI students.
WHAT WE DO in the sessions:
- Teach students exercises to achieve their goals (weight loss, CCA performance, NAPFA results etc.)
- Correct their form and ensure they are doing it right
- Teach workout techniques for efficiency (eg. drop sets, giant sets, etc)
- Teach warmup techniques for injury prevention
- Many more.......
WHEN are the sessions:
- Every Monday and Thursday (1.45pm to 2.45pm)
- Fill up the form in the General section and submit to us in class 4A1.
First Session (Pilot Test)
During the Pilot Test, we held a guided training session covering Weights and Bodyweight exercises, teaching them proper form and explaining to them the different training techniques.
Due to the bad weather conditions however, we were unable to conduct the cardiovascular section.

Some Feedback
After attending one of their training sessions, I realised that these exercises are very all-rounded and cater to everyone. As a canoeist, physical training is not foreign to me but after the session, I have learnt even more about keep-fit methods. Thanks Project Fit or Fad!

This pilot test has benefited me tremendously as I have started to get in shape. Previously, I had little motivation to improve on my physical abilities. However, through this pilot test, I found out that there are realistic ways to meet my fitness goals and that I can start to keep track of my own progress to keep fit in the future. Furthermore, I think that this will help me to improve my NAPFA in general and that it will motivate me to continue keeping fit in the future.

Even in just 1 session, I have learnt much. "Give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will be fed for life". I will learn to apply this training for my future CCA (judo) endeavours.

Our Reflection
We have learnt many things from this project and it was definitely an invaluable learning experience. As we started on this project, we had a passion towards keeping fit and hence, we wanted to share reliable fitness knowledge to those who desired to keep fit as well. With this resolution, we put in a lot of effort in researching and compiling information that would be most beneficial to our target audience and in the process, we learnt many new things with regards to fitness as well. To further aid those who have the desire to keep fit, we conducted gym sessions to personally guide them and help them to reach their fitness goals and targets. From this project, we learnt the importance of teamwork as in order to obtain reliable and useful information for our project, we had to assign each member a different component to research on and with this quality of our group, we managed to complete the compilation of information on our website. We truly believe that our resource is user friendly and would definitely be useful to those who have the desire to keep fit. We hope that our project would be able to make an impact in the Hwa Chong Community by enabling more students to be fit and then we can expand our project beyond the Hwa Chong boundaries. Overall, it has been a fruitful learning experience.
